ZEAL MARKETING AGENCY (PTY) LTD · EFFECTIVE: NOVEMBER 2026

This policy explains how Zeal Marketing Agency (Pty) Ltd ("Zeal", "we", "us") collects and uses personal information through zealmarketing.co.za and when you contact us. We are based in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa, and we process personal information in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. Information we collect

When you use our enquiry forms

We collect the information you enter. On our Start a Project form, this is your name, business or organisation, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, current website (optional), the services you are interested in, what you are trying to achieve, what is currently getting in the way (optional), your budget range and timing, and your agreement to this policy. On our Smart Product enquiry form, this is your name, business or organisation, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the product you are interested in, the quantity, whether you need custom branding or design, what you would like the product to do, any further details you choose to add, and your agreement to this policy. When you submit a form, our website also records the date and time, the page you submitted it from, your IP address and your browser and device details. Your enquiry is stored on our website and emailed to our business inbox, and a confirmation is emailed to the address you provide. When you visit a page that contains one of our enquiry forms, our security service, Cloudflare Turnstile, may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information and details of the page you are on. This is used to distinguish genuine visitors from automated traffic and to protect our forms from spam and abuse.

When you contact us directly

If you email, phone or WhatsApp us, we receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, contact details and the content of your message.

When you use the website

Our hosting and security systems record technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request and the date and time of your visit. This helps keep the website secure and working properly.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in section 3.

We do not intentionally collect special personal information (such as health, religious or biometric information) through the website, and we ask that you do not include it in enquiries. Our website is intended for businesses and is not directed at children.

2. How we use your information

• to respond to your enquiry and discuss your project;

• to send you a confirmation that we have received your enquiry;

• to provide and manage the services you ask us for;

• to keep the website secure, prevent misuse and fix problems;

• to measure how our advertising performs, where you have accepted all cookies (see section 3);

• to understand how our website is used so that we can improve it, where you have accepted all cookies (see section 3);

• to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

• Cookie choices: we use CookieYes to manage cookie consent. Our cookie banner lets you accept all, reject all or customise your cookie preferences, and your choice is stored in a cookie. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings on our website.

• Necessary cookies: some cookies are needed for the website to work and do not require optional consent — for example to keep the website running securely, manage your session and remember your cookie choice.

• Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel): we use the Meta Pixel to measure how our advertising on Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram performs. It is implemented through the PixelYourSite plugin, and the cookies it uses are treated as advertising cookies. In our current setup, the Meta Pixel only runs after you select "Accept All" in the cookie banner. It does not run before you make a choice, if you select "Reject All", or if JavaScript is disabled in your browser. When it runs, Meta receives information about your visit, such as the pages you view and details about your browser and device, and advertising cookies are set in your browser. If you later withdraw your consent to advertising cookies through the cookie settings, the Meta Pixel stops running and the advertising cookies it set on our website are deleted. Withdrawing consent does not affect information that was shared before you withdrew it.

• Fonts: the fonts on our website are hosted on our own server, so loading them does not involve a third party.

• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website — for example which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive and which type of device or browser they use — so that we can improve it. Google Analytics only runs after you select "Accept All" in the cookie banner. It does not run before you make a choice or if you select "Reject All". When it runs, Google receives information about your visit, such as the pages you view and details about your browser and device, and uses your IP address to estimate your general location, and analytics cookies (named _ga) are set in your browser. Your cookie choice is passed to Google through Google Consent Mode. If you later withdraw your consent through the cookie settings, Google Analytics stops running and its cookies are removed from your browser.

• WhatsApp: the WhatsApp button on our website is a direct link to WhatsApp — no WhatsApp or Meta chat code runs on our website. If you choose to open WhatsApp, your conversation is handled by WhatsApp (part of Meta) under its own terms and privacy policy.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the website works.

4. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our website and business, and only as far as they need it:

• Hostinger — website hosting and business email. Our emails, including enquiry notifications and confirmations, are sent and stored through Hostinger's email service.

• Meta Platforms — advertising measurement through the Meta Pixel (only where you have accepted all cookies), and WhatsApp, where you choose to use it.

• Google — website analytics through Google Analytics (only where you have accepted all cookies).

• CookieYes — cookie consent management.

• Cloudflare — spam and bot protection on our enquiry forms through Cloudflare Turnstile. This is a security service: it is not used for advertising or analytics.

• Website security and maintenance tools, such as our website firewall (Wordfence) and backup tools.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our clients or others.

5. Information processed outside South Africa

Some of these providers, including Cloudflare for the security checks on our enquiry forms and Google for website analytics, store or process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we aim to use reputable providers that are subject to data-protection laws or contractual commitments that protect personal information.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our website, access-controlled systems and website security tools. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy.

• Enquiries: information from enquiry form submissions and related correspondence is generally kept for up to 24 months after our last interaction with you, unless a longer period is required by law or is necessary for an applicable legal obligation.

• Website email records: records of emails sent by our website (such as enquiry notifications and confirmations) are deleted automatically after 60 days.

• Website analytics: Google Analytics data is kept according to the data-retention settings in our Google Analytics account.

• Technical and security information: information recorded by our hosting and security systems is kept according to the retention settings of those systems.

When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA you may, subject to certain limits:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request access to it;

• ask us to correct or update information that is inaccurate or incomplete;

• ask us to delete information we are no longer entitled to keep;

• object to our processing of your information, including for direct marketing;

• withdraw your consent where we rely on consent (this does not affect processing that has already taken place).

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 10. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
